2008 Prices per week for La Belle Fontaine

La Belle Fontaine is situated in the tiny hamlet of Corvezou between the villages of St.Eloi and Pluzunet with easy access to the coast at St. Michel en Greve via the quiet D30 and pretty Ploumilliau. The house is at the end of a small lane leading directly into the fields behind. It has no passing traffic with the exception of a rare visit by the local farmer(Phillipe). Further up the lane towards the road is one entrance to another gite but the lane is private from there to La Belle. The local shop and bar is run by a very friendly couple (Annick and Francois) and is about a 15 min walk. There is a manoir restaurant at Le Cleuziou within a few mins drive or a 25 min walk and within 5 mins drive is the small bustly town of Begard with supermarkets, restaurants, bakeries and the fun and activities park called Amoripark!

Information About the House
Downstairs

This former shepherd's cottage provides ample and spacious accommodation. One enters via the large dining room and kitchen.

Then one passes through to the lounge which has a corridor off to a very large double bedroom and a newly refurbished shower room and wc etc.It also houses the washing machine.

Upstairs

Here there are three more bedrooms - 2 doubles and one twin plus a second bathroom with bath and overhead shower. The shower is suitable for light showering only. From the velux windows there are fine views over the surrounding countryside and towards the highest point in north Brittany - the Menez Brez.

Outside

In front of the house is a large gravelled area -ideal for parking plus BBQs etc. In front of this are two other garden areas -one, which has wild plants and shrubs but is looked after and the other around the little spring and pond and which has two superb Western Hemlock trees. The pond was also the old lavoir -washing place. The house is named after this source/fontaine found here.

Behind the house is a large meadow, part of which is grassed and fenced providing a large kick about area or a completely secluded sunbathing area!
The wild meadow behind is the home of many wild plants and shrubs and acts as a wildlife zone! Also the meadow trail is great fun for kids

There is a gravel apron here for BBQs etc where the last sun from the west can be caught.

BBQ equipment and garden chairs/table etc are provided and kept in the garage at the front of the house. Bikes can be kept here under cover and there is usually some wood around for the eager log burner though the adjoining wood can be discreetly visited!

Ploumanach Tregastel and Perros Guirec are the main centres.
Further east are the sea estuary towns of Treguier and Pontrieux with their impressive historic buildings, ports and medieval centres. The Iles de Brehat are idyllic for passing a day traffic free and nearby Paimpol with the Abbaye de Beauport nearby offer more possibilities. The list is endless but detailed itineraries are sent to those staying at La Belle.During the summer the whole region celebrates with dancing + fest noz feasts and the fabulous Breton music.Huge venues and small venues appear everywhere and are really an excellent taste of Breton life.
