Fisherman's Cottage is only 8 minutes walk from glorious sea estuary walks

This stone detached, former fisherman's cottage, lies within the Trieux sea estuary conservation area and within 15/20 mins walking distance of the spectacular La Roche Jagu chateau and its 60 acres of gardens at La Roche Jagu.

The cottage itself

One passes through the small hallway into the main body of the house where there is a beamed  lounge and a corner kitchen and dining area. There is a very eager log burner for off season times and the usual electric heaters etc. The kitchen is very well equipped with most of the usual gadgets.

THE LOUNGE AT FISHERMAN'S COTTAGE

Through a short corridor one finds the large shower room that houses the washing machine and there is a separate WC.

Upstairs there are two double bedrooms with one large enough to have a cot as well as a desk and chair etc. Both bedrooms have an additional single bed.

There are radios in the bedrooms and a video and CD/radio in the lounge. There is an excellent selection of books.

To the right of the cottage is a very large lean to lockable building, which will swallow up bikes etc as well as being home to the BBQ and garden furniture.

The sea estuary is only 8 minutes delightful walk from Fisherman's and takes one into the deep deciduous forest. From here one can do several circular walk.

The house lies alongside a very quiet single lane road with no more than 10 cars per day! It has a front graveled apron upon which one can park and BBQ etc. There is an enclosed garden to the right of the cottage and another elevated garden/orchard to the left. There are rear views over fields and meadows and the nearest neighbour's farm outbuildings are just visible.

Children's wood land trail from the house.

Great for hide and seek!

Photos of Pontrieux Port

La Roche Jagu is a completely restored 15c chateau and here there are are many themed gardens with hundreds of different styles of landscaping. Examples are the tropical garden that is open to the elements and the vegetable and herbs garden, which is full of unusual plants. The chateau is a formidable and remarkable structure sporting 19 giant chimneys and which served as a military fort as well as a domestic residence. One can enjoy these grounds and views over the sea estuary from the restaurant/cafe built into the ramparts of the chateau. There are many marked walks and the gardens are a riot of colour from April to October. A large boat ramp lies under the chateau's gaze.
