Photos
of Pontrieux Port

La
Roche Jagu is a completely restored 15c chateau and here there are are
many themed gardens with hundreds of different styles of landscaping.
Examples are the tropical garden that is open to the elements and the
vegetable and herbs garden, which is full of unusual plants. The chateau
is a formidable and remarkable structure sporting 19 giant chimneys and
which served as a military fort as well as a domestic residence. One can
enjoy these grounds and views over the sea estuary from the restaurant/cafe
built into the ramparts of the chateau. There are many marked walks and
the gardens are a riot of colour from April to October. A large boat ramp
lies under the chateau's gaze.
